
The 6 weeks ODOT program consists of in person classroom and behind-the-wheel hours.
EVENING CLASSES - Classroom hours are 3 hours long twice a week Mondays and Tuesdays 4:30-7:30 in Redmond. Behind-the-wheel lesson is 2 hours a week - see drive schedule for available drive times before registration.
MORNING CLASSES - (Redmond High School students only). This class is a 5 day classroom commitment during 1st period (M-F). Behind-the-wheel lesson is 2 hours a week - see drive schedule for available drive times before registration.
Important! Please take a look at your student schedule before signing up. It is a 6 week course and all classes/behind-the-wheel lesson must be attended to complete the course.
Students must have a valid instruction driver permit issued from the DMV to attend the course.
ODOT REQUIREMENTS: Mandatory parent meeting is required. This meeting must be attended by a parent, legal guardian, or supervising adult with the student. For the first hour we will cover the ODOT program requirements, traffic safety information, policies, procedures, and curriculum. After the first hour of orientation, students will remain and complete their first day of class. (18 + year old parent meeting not required).
At the completion of the course, DMV will waive the drive test to get a license for 15-17 year old. If you are 18+ year old taking the course a DMV drive test is required after completion of course.
NOTE - If your students turns 18 during the course or is 18 years old or older attending they will be required to take the DMV drive test. See DMV site for scheduling drive test.
18 year old + are not required to follow the ODOT teen course schedule but are welcome to attend the classes to learn the rules, laws of our roadways, build confidence and awareness.
6 hours of back seat observation
15-17 and 18 + year old - $720.00 ODOT course
ADDITIONAL FEES
$50 Missed drive fee - less than 24 hour notice or a NO SHOW
$50 Re-test, assessment or an extra drive lesson in the course
REFUNDS
Refunds in full are available until the end of the first class. After the first class no refunds are available.
COURSE FAILURES AND REPEATS
Classroom and Final drive assessment failures can be retaken within 180 days from the courses original start date. Arrangements will be made depending on individual circumstances.
