ODOT Driver Education Program
6 Weeks ODOT Course
- Available for teens 15-17 years old (18+ year old - no DMV drive test waiver available)
- Waives DMV drive test requirement for students 15-17 year old only
- Classes - Held at Redmond Proficiency Science building (RPA) in Redmond
- 30 hours of classroom time - 2 days a week
- 6 hours behind-the-wheel training - 1 day a week
- 6 hours observation (back seat observation while student partner drives)
- Counts towards 50 hours of driving experience - DMV requirements
DMV after course requirements to obtain license:
- Students must be 16 years old
- Students must have permit for at least six months
- Students must have 50 hours supervised driving practice.
NOTE - If your students turns 18 during the course they will be required to take the DMV drive test.
18 year old + are not required to follow the ODOT teen course schedule but are welcome to attend the classes to learn the rules, laws of our roadways, build confidence and awareness.
Six weeks course $720.00 $75.00 ODOT scholarship qualified for student under 18 yrs. old provides proof of their households meets income eligibility guidelines for a benefit program administered by an Oregon State or Federal agency. Reach out to Linda for more information.
